A pair of Central New York high schoolers won the inaugural New York State Fair Classic bass fishing competition held Aug. 24 on Onondaga Lake.
A field of 21, two-person teams of high school anglers (grades 8-12) from across the state competed in the competition, which began at 6 a.m. at the Onondaga Lake Park Marina and Boat Launch in Liverpool and finished at 12:30 p.m. that day.
