According to a post on the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation Police Facebook page, 4 men were cited on April 18, 2019 for possessing 114 bass caught unlawfully small lakes in the Burning Star Fish and Wildlife Area.

CPO Johnson and CPO Williams conducted an investigation, which led to the arrest of 4 subjects for the unlawful take of 114 bass, in Jackson County. CPO Johnson and CPO Williams received information of 3 subjects, allegedly fishing Burning Star Fish and Wildlife Area.
