DEC proposes changes to simplify black bass fishing regulations

Changes have been proposed to simplify black bass fishing regulations in New York State. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has proposed changes to black bass, both smallmouth and largemouth, fishing regulations to help simplify them for anglers. The DEC will accept public comments through January 2021 for these proposed changes. Freshwater fishing: Speckled perch remain a good catch

Around Lakeland, at Tenoroc, bass fishing was best on lakes Horseshoe, Legs, Pine, Shop, 5 and C. Lakes Picnic and B also had high catch rates. Most of the bass were in the 13 to 17 inch range. Tuna longliners to boost deep sea fishing in State

In a bid to boost deep sea fishing, specialised vessels called ‘Tuna longliners’ will soon be introduced in the State. In the first phase, four such vessels will be given to fishermen to enable them to venture into deep sea.
