Yes, they would avoid the months from December through February when a chilly water temperature sends black bass in most Texas lakes sinking into deep water where their cold-blooded metabolism slows and the fish go into a kind of semi-hibernation that makes trying to catch them an often cold, uncomfortable exercise in frustration.
