Bass fishing can heat up during the winter

Many, if not most, of Texas’ million-plus bass anglers would just as soon skip winter and go directly to spring. That could be a mistake.

Yes, they would avoid the months from December through February when a chilly water temperature sends black bass in most Texas lakes sinking into deep water where their cold-blooded metabolism slows and the fish go into a kind of semi-hibernation that makes trying to catch them an often cold, uncomfortable exercise in frustration.
