Bass-fishing championship has distinct Clemson flavor

Now that Anthony Gagliardi’s season is over, he’s eagerly anticipating the impending one – the one the Clemson football team will kick off a little more than two weeks hence. “Last season was incredible, but I’m almost looking more forward to this season just because of all the unknowns,” Gagliardi said. “I want to see the quarterback situation unfold and all the new faces on offense.

“I don’t think the offense is going to fall off like everybody thinks. I think they’re going to be contenders again for the playoff.” Contending is something Gagliardi knows plenty about. The 2000 Clemson graduate has been a fixture on the professional bass-fishing circuit since 2001 and has earned more than $2 million in that span.
