Bass Pro Shops changes mind on south Florida property, sells 64,000-square-foot would-be store

Bass Pro Shops has pulled the plug on plans to open a 64,000-square-foot store in Palm Beach, Florida, the Palm Beach Post reported. According to property records, Bass Pro Shops sold the property this week. It bought the site in 2014 for $5.5 million, the Post reported.

“We’re constantly evaluating and adjusting our plans for the future,” said Jack Wlezien, Bass Pro Shops director of communications, in an email. “In this case, we will continue to serve customers in the area through nearby stores and our online and catalog channels. We’re also continuing to explore future expansion opportunities in the area.”
