Springfield businessman, philanthropist, and noted conservationist Johnny Morris has been ranked 207th in the latest Forbes 400 ranking of the wealthiest Americans. According to Forbes, Morris has a net worth of $3.9 billion as of October 11, 2019.
The 71-year-old Morris began the Bass Pro empire selling fishing supplies from the back of one of his father’s liquor stores. Under Morris’s leadership, the company has become one of the dominant forces in the sporting goods industry, including being able to purchase rival Cabela’s, and doubling their market reach.
