The Bass Pro Shops currently in development planning in Spartanburg County is still at least one or two years away from opening, according to the company. The company says that the new timeline is due to the complexity of the 70 acre site on Highway 101 near Interstate 85 in Greer.

Utility, access, easements, and Brownfield remediation are some of the issues the company cited for the delays. The store was initially scheduled to have a groundbreaking on September 1, 2015. Bass Pro Shops announced the more than 120,000 square feet store in April of 2014 and said it would have mixed use development including retail, hotels, and restaurants.
