Calling all Quad-City anglers. Prepare your favorite rods and reels because there’s a fishing tournament — and a fairly large one at that — coming near you.

Next weekend, anyone, pros and amateurs alike, can sign up to compete in a Bass Pro Shops Big Cat Quest Tournament on the Rock River between Rock Island and Rockton. The first-ever competition of its kind based in Rock Falls is the Midwest qualifier for the 2016 national championship in Richmond, Virginia. The two-day fishing tourney, sponsored by the Missouri-based outdoors retailer, will award prizes to teams with the five most-impressive hauls.
