Catch and Rejoice: CPHS Bass Fishing club wins state championship

There’s something fishy going on at Sand Springs and it resulted in another state championship. The Charles Page High School Bass Fishing team won the 2017 Oklahoma Bass Nation High School State Club Championship after Caden Pennington and John Miller took second place overall Sunday, May 21 at Lake Texhoma. The three Sand Springs teams are a part of Bass Nation High School Club.

 

Pennington and Miller turned in five bass that weighed 15.46 pounds, earning the runner-up spot, and Washington High School’s Dale Sherrick and Will Manning turned in a state-championship five bass that weighed 15.74 pounds. Sherrick and Manning placed first, but Sand Springs won the club championship.
