Christmas is nearly here, and this year Sue and I will be in Kansas with Jen and Cody.  It’s a bit of a change, as I think we’ve only spent one other Christmas away from Colorado. That year was spent in Southern California. It was a unique year, as it was the only Christmas that I fished Christmas Day. Managed to hit the surf near Santa Monica pier at sunrise for a couple hours while everyone else slept.

 

I suspect our future Christmases will be spent in Kansas or somewhere outside Colorado, primarily because wherever the “kids” and grandkids are, that’s where our Christmas will be. While I doubt I’ll get to fish Christmas Day, there’s little doubt I’ll try my hand on the Missouri River and other ice-free waters around the Kansas City area.
