The Jackson County Health Department is threatening to bring in law enforcement if the Bass Pro Shops location in Independence doesn’t close. A spokesperson said the county had issued a letter of non-compliance to the store, located at 18001 Bass Pro Drive in Independence, on Monday.
If the store remains open this week, the spokesperson said law enforcement would be notified. The closure would be in effect through at least April 24, coinciding with the metro’s stay-at-home order. Bass Pro Shops said in a statement to 41 Action News late Monday that it has not received “formal communication from Jackson County public health officials on which to act upon.”
