The goofy weather we experienced in March and April has made us a bit behind in the water temperature area and this has not only affected the walleye bite but also the largemouth bass fishing as well. Largemouth bass are still catchable and within two weeks we should hit the peak of the bass bite.
At this time of early summer, many of the largemouth bass are still hovering in the vicinity of their nests and will be patrolling the area. By using good sunglasses, you can sight fish these shallow areas and actually spot the bass in 1-3 feet of water. By keeping your boat well away from the shallows you can pitch a bait and put it right in front of their noses.
