The last week of October saw striped bass fishing in Raritan Bay and surrounding waters explode and begin spreading down the Jersey coast. As a result, November will be the month to get in on the excellent linesider action, and it is not out of the realm of reality that the fishing will last well into December.
There is a very good reason why the start of the heavy bass fishing is a couple of weeks later than usual. For the second straight year, Mother Nature has created the perfect scenario for the fall striped bass run along the Jersey coast.The fall striped bass migration along the Atlantic Coast varies from year to year based on the weather of any given year. Many years have seen the migrating stripers move down the coast in the ocean off Staten Island.
