With waves of cold fronts coming through, rods and reels are usually put away for winter, and exchanged for bows and guns. Our post at the bow of the boat is swapped out for the elevated seat of a tree stand. However, these cooler temperatures are the perfect opportunity to take advantage of neglected lakes.
From September to November, the fishing can be just as good as, if not better than, any other time of the year. This year has stayed unseasonably warm long after the summer months, which gives us a better excuse to postpone the treestand and take out the boat.
