It happens from time to time. Fishermen will decide to come to Lake County for vacation, only to spend a couple of fruitless weeks on the Harris Chain of Lakes. They will then return home convinced that there really are no bass to be had in an area known for its bass fishing.
They are convinced it’s all just a big fish story. Phil Kelley, 70, is on a one-man crusade to keep such disappointing trips from happening. He wants vacationers to have as good a chance as possible of going home with pictures of prized catches. He also wants locals to have all the tools they could possibly need to land some of those trophy-sized catches.
