The Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) has released a list of new proposed changes to the fishing regulations. The proposal has been published and can be read at azgfd.gov. The public is invited to submit comments and/or watch a live presentation on the requested changes. These changes may affect waters you fish and limits of fish you can keep. Anglers are encouraged to read the proposed changes.
Roosevelt Lake is 44 percent full. The monsoon rain has increased the flows into the lake; however, there has not been enough moisture to significantly change the lowering trend. The Salt River is flowing at 125 CFPS or about 50 percent of its normal rate for this time of year while the “on-again off-again” Tonto Creek is currently not flowing. During the month of July, the lake level has fallen over four vertical feet and water will continue to be drawn from the Salt River chain for the next two to three months.
