Fishing heating up with the weather

As the temperature has started to heat up so has the yellowtail and white seabass fishing. According to Mike Thompson from Channel Islands Sportfishing, their boats are bringing in yellowtail and white seabass with regularity.

“Fishing the Arch at Anacapa Island has been the hot spot for most but a new spot of fish has popped up on the west end of Santa Cruz Island,” Thompson said. “Most of them are 25 pounds with larger ones pushing 35 pounds.” Dennis Culley from Oxnard caught a 36-pound white seabass while fishing on a full-day trip to Anacapa Island aboard the Aloha Spirit.
