The art of fly-fishing should be fairly easy. “Take a rod and a line and throw it in some water. Splash it around a bit and wait until something tugs” said Michael Russell in the Origin of Fly Fishing.
If it were that easy most of us would give it up and try to catch fish in a more difficult way. But, it isn’t that easy. According to Russell fly fishing started around 200 AD when Aeolian who was born around 170 AD wrote a reference to it. Aeolian wrote “ On The Nature of Animals” and his supposition was that the Macedonians might have invented fly-fishing.
