Fishing spring runoff in Alabama lakes

It’s not only been an unusually cold late winter season across much of Alabama, but also an amazingly rainy stretch not only for the winter and the beginning of 2021, but for all of 2020.

While the cold has been so intense as to shut down most success in the northern half of the state on cold-sensitive largemouths, we’re now coming into the time of year when rapid warm-ups will move these fish into creeks and bays, and they’ll be hungry as they shift into the pre-spawn mode.
