1. Around Lakeland, bass definitely picked up at Tenoroc, reports FWC biologist Keaton Fish – one in 9-pound class on Lake B largest this week. Angler pre-fishing for tournament on Parker Wednesday released bass weighing 8, 5 and 3 pounds casting swim-baits (Houdini color), reports Dave Andress at Phillips Bait and Tackle. Bass and speckled perch slow at Saddle Creek Park with water very low, Andress said. Not a lot of specks at Tenoroc, but quite a few 12-14 inches.
2. At Auburndale, nice-sized bass up to 6-7 pounds on Alfred and Rochelle casting lipless crankbaits, frogs, Pop-Rs and surface baits in bedding areas, reports Ron Schelfo at Ron’s Tackle Box in Lake Alfred. Lots of limits of specks, with mixed sizes, on minnows off beach at Alfred and on Swoop, Echo, Rochelle and Haines. Slab specks under public dock on Ariana slowed down – might have caught them all last two weeks.
