Around Lakeland, at Tenoroc the best bass bite was on lakes 5, B, and Lost Lake West. and Legs. Most of the bass reported 10-16 inches. This week there was one large bass between 24-25 inches. Anglers are having the most success fishing with crank baits in deep water. For the specks, Lake B and Picnic Lake provided the best catch. The best panfish bite this past week was in lakes Derby, 5, B, Picnic, and Pine Lakes. For catfish, Lakes B, C, and Pine had the best bite, reports FWC biologist Keaton Fish.
At Auburndale, lots of shellcracker and the bluegill bite is real good. In between the rains, there’s nice size fish and some limits off of Lake Rochelle. At Lake Alfred, lots of bluegills along the shorelines. In Auburndale there’s been good panfish bite on Lake Ariana and Lake Juliana, with a few specks on Ariana. Bass real good on Lake Rochelle, with a 7 pound fish caught. Lots of schooling bass on lipless crank baits and topwaters. Lakes Alfred, Haines, and Juliana producing lots of 4-5 pound fish, reports Ron Schelfo at Ron’s Tackle Box (863-956- 4990).
