Around Lakeland, at Tenoroc, bass fishing was best on lakes Horseshoe, Legs, Pine, Shop, 5 and C. Lakes Picnic and B also had high catch rates. Most of the bass were in the 13 to 17 inch range. This past week, 17 large bass over 19 inches were caught including two fish pushing 23 inches. Speck fishing was best at lakes Cemetery, Horseshoe, Legs and 5. The best lakes for panfish were Cemetery, Coronet, Derby, Horseshoe, Legs, Picnic, Pine, 5 and B.
Catfish were biting best at lakes Coronet, Derby, Legs, Picnic, 3, 5, and C, reports FWC biologist Paolo Pecora. At Saddle Creek, there’s not much with all the wind this week. Some specks have been caught on minnows and a few anglers have been working the banks with red worms for bluegill. Around town, specks have been caught at lakes Crago and Hancock, reports Phillips Bait and Tackle (863-666-2248).
