Every fall and spring is an exciting time for anglers in the greater Fremont area. It’s the time when a gamefish not commonly found in the area has its population replenished while the Nebraska waters are still at a forgiving temperature.
On Thursday, the Nebraska Game and Park Commission is prepared to stock Lake No. 2 at the Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area with 3,800 rainbow trout, followed by stocking another 1,200 the week of March 20, said Dean Rosenthal, fisheries division administrator for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
