Following a meteoric rise through the Texas High School Bass Association’s rankings, the Gainesville High School bass fishing team is set to close the books on its inaugural season this weekend at the THSBA state tournament on Lake Ray Roberts.

Six teams of GHS students and their boat captains will begin the two-day tournament this morning. Those teams include Andre Lawson and Landon Prestage, Ryan Wright and Hunter Nichols, Zachery Pierce and Eliam Gonzalez, Jessie Gutierrez and Ragon McElreath, Dawson Cassidy and Collin Dudenhoeffer, and Janson Robeson and Reece Holt.
