Good bass catches for South Florida anglers

Every ounce counted Sunday in the Everglades Bassmasters of South Florida Open Team Tournament on Lake Okeechobee out of Clewiston. The winning team of Nicholas Hoinig and Tim Shabareck caught 18.91 pounds in the 45th annual event to beat out Bob Twiss and Anthony Valachovic, who had 18.87, by .64 ounces.

Bass-Fishing

John and J.E. Jepuly were third at 18.04, followed by Matt and Chris Jordan at 17.83 and Ryan Miller and Lisa Allison at 15.97. Corky Llewellyn had the big bass of 6.87. Kevin Roach and Tony Davie had the second biggest at 6.03.
