GREAT OUTDOORS: Bethel home to bass fishing’s college elite

Congratulations are in order for the winner of the 2018 Cabela’s School of the Year: Bethel University in McKenzie. Hundreds of colleges around the country were vying all year for this pinnacle of the bass fishing sport. The Bethel bass angling team began the season determined to show up at the most tournaments, prepare to perform well, and strive to win the competition. They are top performers every year but this year they really pulled it off.

Bethel University is a small Christian (Presbyterian) college about 75 miles west of Nashville. The Association of Collegiate Anglers manages the multifaceted Cabela’s School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia. The program has been built to reward and recognize teams that compete on the water in numerous national level trails for the full year.
