High wind, high temps await Bass Pro race runners on Sunday

If you’re a runner, don’t forget to move your alarm clock back an hour on Sunday. If you don’t, you might spend some extra time waiting for the start of the 11th annual Bass Pro Shops Conservation Marathon race, and three other races Sunday morning.

Oh, and be ready for some really weird weather. Mark Burchfield, National Weather Service meteorologist, said Sunday will likely break the record high temperature of 79, set way back in 1888.  Eighty degrees is the forecasted high, along with wind gusts in the morning of up to 35 mph. “It’s a pretty good chance we’ll come close to breaking that record,” Burchfield said. “It’s also going to be a very humid morning.”
