Keene High bass fishing coach Graves wins district semifinal, national championship up next

Sean Graves has been fishing for as long as he can remember. The Spofford resident recalls days fishing on his brother’s bass boat when he was in his early 20s. He remembers how, when he had children of his own, he wanted to take them fishing, so he bought a bass boat.

As he got more involved with fishing, he upgraded to a bigger boat, and his passion intensified. These days he’s a social studies teacher at Keene High School and coach of the school’s bass fishing team. And in between, he’s casting and catching fish himself as a successful competitor. How successful? Enough to earn a spot in The Bass Federation’s (TBF) national championship in April.
