1 Around Lakeland, at Saddlecreek the bass have been good on weightless Senkos in black and blue color skipped under the trees. Bluegill are still biting good on red worms and crickets. Around town, Lakes Parker, Hollingsworth, and Banana have been good for the bass. Lake Parker also has a good bluegill bite and Lake Crago had a good speck bite this week, reports Evan Wieber at Phillips Bait and Tackle (863-666-2248).
2 At Auburndale, Lake Juliana has produced a few bass and a lot of nice bluegill this week. The bluegill are biting crickets and Beetle Spins in yellow color along the shorelines and around the lily pads. Around Lake Alfred, Lakes Haines, and Rochelle have been best for the bass. There’s lots of schoolies on Rat-L-Traps and frog baits both early and late in the day. Lakes Echo and Swoop have been best for the bluegill and shellcracker, reports Ron Schelfo at Ron’s Tackle Box (863-956-4990).
