But look a little farther east, and there are big fish lurking in the depths of Massacre Rocks State Park. As the dramatic igneous rock formations that define this Oregon Trail historical site intertwine with a mighty stretch of the Snake River, a unique ecosystem is born. And the fish that call Massacre Rocks home — smallmouth bass, in particular — are using the expansive habitat and plentiful food supply to grow to epic proportions.
