When Jay Gore and Noah Boyett brought 13 pounds, 8 ounces to the scales, they didn’t think it would be near enough to have a strong placing at the FLW The Bass Federation (TBF) Arkansas State High School Championship bass fishing tournament.
But the Mountain Home High School team’s catch was good enough for it to finish in fourth place out of 115 teams at the tournament held last weekend at Lake Ouachita. “It was definitely a tougher day than I had imagined it would be for a lot of people,” Gore said. “We lost about a three-and-a-half pounder that would have been our third keeper of the day. It just came off right at the boat.”
