Lake Hatchineha isn’t the first lake that comes to mind when the Kissimmee Chain is mentioned. But Hatchineha produced a 10-pound bass for the champion and two of the top three stringers in the Ram Truck Open Series Championship out of Lake Toho on Saturday and Sunday.
Bass fishermen around Central Florida have a little more bounce in their step, both because of improved action and anticipation of better days soon to come. Bass picked up the pace on a rainy week with the fall transition to shallow water well under way. The odds for catching bass over 2-3 pounds are still low with the water temperature still reaching the upper 80s.
