Owner George Voukolos and now son Ronald, have been retail mainstays since the 1970s. In April they will move from the 200sq m site in the RSL building to the 1000sq m site on the corner of Cavenagh and Knuckey St. It will be the first time Mr Voukolos will be his own landlord.

“We had been looking at the site across the road for some time but we couldn’t negotiate a long enough lease,” George Voukolos said. “So I said to the owner – I’ll buy it off you – how much to buy it even though the building wasn’t for sale – it started as a joke but over time we came to an agreement.”
