The bass fishing was very slow Aug. 28 when my two friends from New York City — Mike Lagiovane and Nick Rubolino — and I launched at Schuylerville in the upper Hudson.
Water temperature was 82 degrees and air temperature was at 92 degrees with humidity in the 60s. I think we drank more water than we caught fish. We covered a lot of territory in our four hours of fishing, and caught a bass here and there — most of which were in shallow weeds and under overhanging trees. Most of our catch was smallmouth, and all were caught on Wacky Worms.
