Oklahoma anglers face fines after fishing over daily limit

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation has put out a warning to those who choose to fish over the daily limit. A handful of recent cases have anglers facing hundreds of dollars in fines. A tip led wardens to a case in Beavers Bend State Park, where they found rainbow trout caught over the limit.

Bill Hale, chief of law enforcement with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, said the anglers who caught the trout were 22 fish over the daily limit. “It was an extraordinary case, because of the numbers, but it is not unusual,” Hale said. Last week in Kay County, another man was found with eight fish over the limit.
