Former Rison High School Principal Kent Baggett, along with fellow volunteers Jimmy Edmonds and Robb Dedman, took the first step last week when they received permission from the Cleveland County School Board to field a team using the Rison High School Wildcats as the teams’s official name and mascot.

While the fishing team will not be directly affiliated with the high school like football, basketball, baseball, track and other sports, Baggett said they will follow the same guidelines as the other sports in terms of maintaining a certain grade point average and conduct at school.
