From the time he could walk, Kyle Walters went fishing with his late father Wayne in what were good times cemented as lifelong memories. “In our family, fishing has been a tradition,” said Walters, a 41-year-old Melbourne native and father of four. “Dad always had the time to take me along on fishing trips and all the other things we did outdoors and I’m grateful for that. Now I’m passing it on to my kids.”
Walters, who stands out in a crowd at 6-foot-7, was a basketball star for Eau Gallie High School and later Florida Tech. Soon after high school he began entering local and state bass fishing tournaments and quickly developed a reputation as a winner.
