ShareLunker bass program expands its range

For more than 31 years, Texas’ inland fisheries managers and the state’s anglers have cooperated in what began as a then-unique partnership aimed at improving the quality of the state’s largemouth bass fishery by employing angler-caught, trophy-size bass in hatchery production and research.

As of Jan. 1, that program has greatly expanded its focus and aims, hoping to generate wider participation from the state’s million-plus bass anglers and further improve what over the past three decades has become what many consider the premier largemouth bass fishery in the nation.
