Slow fishing can’t ruin a perfect day on the river

Driving along the road paralleling the Beaverkill River Saturday was like looking through a window at a painting renowned local artist Peter Corbin did in 1992, called Beaver Kill afternoon.

Every pool, riffle and run had an angler or two, knee deep in the cool, but clear water. Some of the more popular spots, like Barnhart’s Run, Hendrickson Pool, Cairn’s Pool, Wagon Track Pool and Brown’s Race, occasionally had several anglers or more competing for space and for fish.
