Bass Pro Shops is hosting a Snake Show this weekend, doing everything from testing out snake proof boots to having a show and tell with the slithery creatures. Snake Master, Steve Scruggs, is helping promote the Rocky Snake Boot, giving a demonstration of a poisonous rattlesnake striking the boot to prove that it can save your life if you accidentally get too close.

But he says another big reason they are here is to educate the public on the importance of snakes and how they help us in our everyday lives. For one, they eat rats that carry diseases and their venom is even used to help cure diseases like breast cancer and diabetes.
