Around Lakeland at Tenoroc, bass anglers had the best success this past week on lakes Shop, 3, 5, B and F. Most of the bass reported were in the 12-16 inch range with five large bass over 23 inches. Artificial worms and flukes were the most productive. Speck fishing was best on lake 5. The best lakes for panfish were Half-moon, Fish Hook, Picnic, 5 and B. Lakes Derby and Half-moon were best for catfish, reports FWC biologist Keaton Fish.
At Auburndale, Lake Ariana is still producing some schoolie bass on crankbaits. Bass fishing has been good on Lakes Haines and Rochelle with Haines producing a seven pound bass on a frog bait this week. Lake Rochelle also producing big shellcracker and bluegill. Lake Alfred has a good shellcracker bite from the public pier, reports Ron Schelfo at Ron’s Tackle Box (863-956-4990).
