The recent storms have helped and not hurt the bass fishing conditions at Clear Lake although they have kept many fishermen away. Most of the anglers on the lake have been local residents and they’re enjoying some great fishing.
As an example, local fishing guide Bob Myskey took Bill Ryan and Stan Press of St. Helena on a two-day trip earlier this week and they caught a grand total of 122 bass, the largest weighing just more than 8 pounds. Live jumbo minnows were their top bait. To catch 122 bass in just two days is unheard of. They saw very few boats out on the lake, which meant they had no trouble getting to their favorite fishing holes.
