Youth fishing club for grades 5 to 12 meets at Bass Pro
After last week’s column, I was contacted by San Joaquin Bassmasters Fishing Club. The charter club is affiliated with The California Bass Federation and The Bass Federation. It’s open to youth anglers in grades 5 through 12 and is perfect for local youth that are wanting to give fishing a try, or even those who are experienced. There are many great things to say about this youth fishing club. Best of all is that pretty […]

It’s not just the REI Co-op that has gotten political. Now, two major outdoor companies that are frequented by hunters, fishers, and rugged outdoors enthusiasts are getting in on the anti-Pebble mine action. Bass Pro and Cabela’s, now under the same ownership, sent a letter to customers this month, asking them to donate to a nonprofit organization that the companies would donate to, dollar for dollar. Oh, and be ready for some really weird weather. Mark Burchfield, National Weather Service meteorologist, said Sunday will likely break the record high temperature of 79, set way back in 1888. Eighty […]

Greg Marvin, who has been in Greene County Jail since the incident last October, was in court Tuesday with his new attorney, Adam Woody. Woody argued that Marvin has worked since the age 13, has donated food to homeless people and “has […]
