AP alleges labor rights abuses in Hawaiian fishing industry

A new investigationfrom Associated Press has alleged human rights and labor abuses in the Hawaiian fishing industry, reports the Washington Times. Around 700 undocumented foreign workers, mostly from impoverished Southeast Asian and Pacific Island nations, work on Hawaii’s commercial fishing fleet, the country’s fifth-highest grossing fishery, it said.
