Turner brothers aiming to bring home state bass fishing title

Nolan Turner has competed in fishing tournaments since he was 12 years old, but his passion for the sport originated far before that time.

The Rochelle Township High School bass fisherman still remembers watching a fishing program on television when he was 6, and it was at that moment when he knew he wanted to catch fish just like the ones he saw on the show. Several years later, Nolan and his brother Colen are working to bring the Hubs a state bass fishing championship after dominating the IHSA Sectional at Shabbona Lake this past month, reeling in 15 pounds and 14 ounces of fish.
