Wickstrom: Fishing getting hot as the weather warms

It’s that time of the year again.  The lake and reservoir fishing in Colorado is really getting good, the runoff in the rivers is beginning in earnest and the weather is beckoning anglers to get outside. All of this comes together to create a conundrum for Colorado fly anglers.  The high flows and the muddy water can make for difficult and even dangerous conditions and many fly fishers seem reluctant to turn to still water fishing.

Two very prominent and accomplished fly fishermen, author Steve Schweitzer and Brian Chavet, former owner of Elkhorn Fly Rods and Fly Shop, joined me Saturday on my radio show to discuss the fly anglers’ options at this time of the year.
