With scattered fish, constant movement can lead to success

I was just unloading my equipment when my fishing partner for the day Josh Hagemeister pulled up beside me. As we readied our gear for the walk out onto the ice, we both commented on the number of vehicles parked at the public access. We agreed that somewhere in recent history, there had been a good bite on this lake. Whether it was still happening remained to be seen.

As we walked out towards the 10- to 12-foot flat that we were going to target, I told Hagemeister it looked like there was a cluster of anglers working my favorite location. Although it had been a few years since I had fished this lake, my best success had always come from the same general area.
