Young anglers enjoy Hartell fishing event

Young outdoorsmen and their families travelled from across the region this past Saturday to celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day at Hartell Conservation Area in Clinton County, Missouri.


The fishing derby was sponsored by the Missouri Department of Conservation and volunteers from the Loess Hills Chapter of the Missouri Master Naturalists. Youth fished from a pond stocked with sunfish, crappie and bass, which can grow into trophy-size fish.
